Travel at high altitude
I found this very interesting article on medical conditions and travel (External link)in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Travel to high altitude is increasing. The authors discuss physiological changes at high altitude, pretravel evaluation for common medical conditions, and the risks of high-altitude headache, acute mountain sickness, high-altitude pulmonary edema, and high-altitude cerebral edema.
It is interesting to note the alarming probability of side effects for all travellers.
